This section explains the terms used in HULFT DataCatalog.

Metadata |
This is supplementary information about data, such as the size of data and when it was last updated. |
Asset |
This is the target for metadata management (a database, its tables, and so on) on HULFT DataCatalog. |
Crawling |
This is an operation that acquires the technical metadata from the registered resources. |
Owner |
This is the manager of an object. One or more users can be set. Users set as owners have all permissions for the corresponding object. Refer to Owners for details. |
Expert |
This is the contact information regarding an asset. A user or group can be set. Set a user or group who has thorough knowledge of the relevant asset. |
Business metadata |
This is the metadata that is required for business. Mainly, this corresponds to terms and tags, experts, and descriptions of tables and columns. |
Technical metadata |
This is the physical metadata in the system. Mainly, this corresponds to physical tables, names of columns, and data types. |
Admin/Steward/Member |
These are the types of users for HULFT DataCatalog. Refer to Users for details. |
Object |
This is a collective term for assets, groups, terms, and tags. |
Lineage |
This is a chart that visualizes the movement of data, processes of data conversion, and the history of data. In a lineage of HULFT DataCatalog, you can check the history (linkage source/linkage destination) of data integrated with scripts in DataSpider Servista. You can view a lineage in Table/View asset. |
Data profile |
This is a function that analyzes and displays the quality of data held in assets such as tables or CSV files. |
Data test |
This is a function that checks whether the quality of data is maintained. It helps you to notice data poisoning before using the data and to prevent problems such as incorrect analysis results or wrong decisions. |
Custom view |
This is a function that creates a simplified view using RDB tables/views in the same resource and uses the view as an asset. |
Asset view count |
This is the number of times that a target asset is viewed in a certain period. This is displayed on the right side of an asset name on the asset details screen. |
