Notes on migrating DataMagic

Migration of DataMagic includes the following:

  • Migration from the trial version to the product version

  • Adding optional products

For both operations, you can migrate to the new environment with inheriting the existing environment.

 

You can obtain the product key for a product version by following the same steps as for the trial version. When you migrate from a trial version to a product version, obtain a product key from the website and enter the key from DataMagic Management screen or by executing the installation module and enter the product key.

 

The following are notes on migration from a trial version to a product version:

  • The trial version and product version must be the same version, level, and revision.

  • The trial version and product version must be built for the same OS and CPU.

  • The trial version and product version must be the same grade (product type).

  • The trial version and product version must use the same encryption.

Note

The product key can be updated by the super user only. General users cannot update the product key.

= Remarks =

  • From DataMagic Ver.3 on, Japanese and English editions are provided in the same module. You can migrate from either Japanese or English versions of DataMagic.

  • There is no trial version of DataMagic Manager. The trial version of DataMagic Server contains the product version of DataMagic Manager. Therefore, DataMagic Manager does not require migration from a trial version.
