Specifying environment variables

The environment variables must always be set before using DataMagic Server and the options. During installation or change of environment, modify the values for the environment variables. However, if you use DataMagic Server in the same environment as HULFT (UNIX/Linux version) Ver.5 or later, you do not need to modify the environment variables.

Specify the environment variables for all users, including users who start the DataMagic Request Acknowledge daemon (huledd), and those who execute commands. In addition, specify the environment variables for the log-in profiles as needed.

If you intend to use the Database connectivity option, you must specify the environment variables for this option. For details, see Constructing a Database Connection Environment (Option).

The following sections assume that DataMagic Server for UNIX/Linux is already installed.
