Selecting the installation directory
Select the directory in which DataMagic Server (hereafter "installation directory") is installed.
This manual uses /usr/local/MAGIC as an example of the installation directory.
- Installation directory
-
/usr/local/MAGIC
- Execution module storage directory
-
/usr/local/MAGIC/bin
- Environment settings file storage directory
-
/usr/local/MAGIC/etc
The name of the installation directory must contain an alphanumeric string of 1 to 50 bytes.
If you want to use HULFT and DataMagic Server simultaneously in the same environment, we recommend that you install DataMagic Server in a different directory from HULFT.
It is possible to install HULFT and DataMagic Server in the same directory and share the environment variables HULPATH (environment settings file storage directory) and HULEXEP (execution module storage directory) between HULFT and DataMagic Server. However, we recommend using DataMagic's environment variables DMPATH (environment settings file storage directory) and DMEXEP (execution module storage directory) instead.
DataMagic provides sample profile files for the environment variables (dm.bsh.profile, dm.csh.profile). For details, see Sample profile.
If you intend to install DataMagic Server in the same directory as HULFT, stop the send, receive, and Request Acknowledge daemons before installation.
