Fields settings

This section explains the fields of format information.

(1) Fields for Format - Detailed Information

ID

The ID used to identify registered format information.

Business group

A business group for which general users have access rights.

Alternatively, a business group that is used as a filter condition only.

Comment

Comment about the format information.

Validity

Selecting the check box in front of an field name will enable that field. If this flag is not selected, the field is disabled, and you are unable to specify the field as an input or output field when mapping.

Field name

The name that identifies the field.

No. of occurrences

The number of occurrences of the relevant field.

No. of bytes

The number of bytes of the relevant field.

You cannot specify parent fields.

Digits after decimal point

The number of digits after the decimal point of the relevant field.

You cannot specify parent fields or fields whose Field type is F, I, M, N, X, D, or Z.

Field type

The data type for the relevant field.

You cannot specify parent fields.

Note

If you specify type X in UTF-16, specify an even number for No. of bytes.

9

: unsigned external decimal

B

: binary

F

: floating point

I

: image, no conversion

M

: variable-length characters

N

: double-byte graphic characters

P

: signed internal decimal

S

: signed external decimal

X

: character

D

: date

Z

: numeric character string

Comment

Comment about each field.

(2) Fields for Format information field settings

Field number

The row number in the table. Serial numbers are input automatically.

Fixed/Variable length

Select the field length of the relevant field.

You can specify Variable length (delimiter specified) and Variable length (field name specified)

only if Field type is 9, I, M, N, X, D, or Z.

Fixed length

: Fixed-length format that was previously specified as the data length

Variable length (delimiter specified)

: Variable-length format that uses the data terminal code (delimiter)

Variable length (field name specified)

: Variable-length format that uses the data length storage location

Field Name

The name that identifies the field.

Fields to be set if Variable length (delimiter specified) is selected in Fixed/Variable length

Input - Delimiter value

The delimiter when used as input data.

Input - Trim

If you selected this, the delimiter is trimmed upon input.

If you are not selected this, the delimiter is not trimmed upon input. If the delimiter is not in the variable-length data, the delimiter is automatically added. If the delimiter is not trimmed, it is handled as input data. For this reason, depending upon the delimiter value, an error might occur during conversion.

Note

If the delimiters are not trimmed, the delimiters are included in and treated as part of the input data. This might cause a conversion error depending on the delimiter values.

Output side - Delimiter value

The delimiter when used as output data. If this item is not set, the data will be output without a delimiter value attached.

Fields to be set if Variable length (field name specified) is selected in Fixed/Variable length

Reference field name

The fields that store the data length of variable-length data.

Note

The item to be referenced must be defined before the variable length item on the referencing side.

Multiple

This is used in the calculation formula for data length when used as input data.

Constant

This is used in the calculation formula for data length when used as input data.

(3) Fields for Advanced settings for zoned decimal and packed decimal

Zone

The zone sign for conversion data. Specify 0 to F in hexadecimal.

Sign position - Input handling (Zoned decimal)

The conversion data zoned decimal sign when used as input data. Set Pos., Neg., or - as values for 0 through F. - indicates an error.

Sign position - Output handling (Zone decimal)

The conversion data zoned decimal sign when used as output data. Specify 0 to F in hexadecimal.

Input handling (Packed decimal)

The conversion data packed decimal sign when used as input data. Set Pos., Neg., or - as values for 0 through F. - indicates an error.

Output handling (Packed decimal)

The conversion data packed decimal sign when used as output data. Specify 0 to F in hexadecimal.

(4) Fields for Reference field name

Field name

The field name set in Reference field name on the Format Information Field Settings screen.

Field information

This is a list of fields that can be referenced as Reference field name.

Clicking a row will set the field name selected in the original screen.

For details about the fields that can be viewed, see Table 3.8 Field List for Select reference field name

(5) Fields for Import HULFT settings
