User accounts to execute commands
For the DataMagic Server grade, there are two methods for authenticating users when connections are established from DataMagic Manager to DataMagic Server. The authentication methods are OS authentication and product authentication. You can specify an authentication method by selecting User Administration on the start page of the DataMagic Management screen. Note that the authentication method for the system administrator (admin) cannot be changed. Also, you cannot change the authentication method for built-in accounts (root, SYSTEM).
For the DataMagic Desktop grade, you do not need to think about what the authentication method is.
The table below explains the relationships between methods for authenticating users and executability of commands.
