External character table and EBCDIC user table

External character tables, EBCDIC user table template files and files for EBCDIC user table expansion are also used in HULFT.

If you install DataMagic in the same environment where HULFT is already installed, the registered tables are saved during the installation of DataMagic.

However, despite using DataMagic and HULFT in the same environment, if you want to use separate files for external character table expansion and EBCDIC user table expansion, specify the -path option when executing the command to expand external character tables and the command to expand EBCDIC user tables respectively in order to create expansion files for different environments.

You must create EBCDIC user tables in a different environment, because the tables cannot be shared with HULFT.

In DataMagic, you can set a greater length (or number of bytes) of external characters than in HULFT. However, this external character setting cannot be loaded into HULFT.
