When UTF-8 is used for the kanji code type in code conversion

If you use UTF-8 for the kanji code type in code conversion, we recommend that you select M (mix of kanji and ASCII characters) type for Field type.

The N (kanji, fullwidth) for Field type handles kanji character codes as 2-byte codes, but kanji characters of UTF-8 include kanji character codes of 3 bytes or more and therefore this is not a consistent combination. As a result, due to a shortage of bytes that can be specified, desired kanji characters might not be displayed.

(1) Conversion to type N

When converting UTF-8 to N (kanji, fullwidth) type that is not UTF-8, if the input data contains a 1-byte code, an input data error occurs.
