Compatibility of management information between the DataMagic Server grade and the DataMagic Desktop grade

The DataMagic Server grade and the DataMagic Desktop grade can inherit management information from each other. Take note of the following when you import management information to be used for different grades.

(1) Using management information from the DataMagic Server grade for the DataMagic Desktop grade

Export files that were created in DataMagic Server can be imported into a DataMagic Desktop environment. However, functions that cannot be used in the DataMagic Desktop grade will not be imported. If you use data processing information that was created in DataMagic Server for DataMagic Desktop, you might not be able to process the data processing as expected. If you want to create data processing information equivalent to that of DataMagic Server, we recommend that you re-register the data processing information in DataMagic Desktop.

(2) Using management information from the DataMagic Desktop grade for the DataMagic Server grade

Export files created in DataMagic Desktop can be imported into a DataMagic Server environment.

However, user information and business groups are not specified in the data processing information created in DataMagic Desktop. If necessary, specify user information and business groups in DataMagic Server.
