Registering external character tables

If the DataMagic Desktop grade is used, an external character table cannot be registered.

To execute custom external character conversion, you need to register input codes and the corresponding output codes in external character tables. This step is required if the file for external character table expansion, which is required to execute data processing, has not been created.

To register external character tables, you can use the DataMagic Management screen or the commands. The description below is about how to use commands for registration.

To register external character tables from the screen, go to the External Character Table - Detailed Information screen. On the Start Page of the DataMagic Management screen, click External character table to display the External Character Table - Detailed Information screen.
