When no external character table is registered, the default code depends on the output kanji code type. The table below lists the default codes for each kanji code type.

The settings can be changed so that if no external character table is registered, the system generates an error instead of converting to the default code. For details, see DataMagic Reference Manual.

If the same kanji code type is specified for both the input and output encoding, the input code will not be converted to the default code if no external character table is registered.
