Types of users and operation permissions

There are two types of users: superusers and general users. The user type determines what a user can do. You can set a user in the User Administration screen in System Configuration.

The table below describes the operation permission of a superuser and general user.

When using DataMagic on a standalone basis, in principle, the operation must be executed by a user who is registered in DataMagic (in general, the user who has performed the installation).

= Remarks =

If DataMagic coexists with HULFT, in principle, HULFT must be operated by a superuser (root). Therefore, in such a case, DataMagic must be also operated by a superuser (root). If for some reason, operation by a superuser is not possible, there are restrictions imposed by HULFT.

For details, see the manuals for HULFT.

If you use business groups for filter conditions, these limitations are not applied.

= Remarks =
  • If you specify business groups in the management information, you can add access permissions specified for the business groups.

    • Business groups for the user permission management

Access permissions for the management information depend on the access permissions (cannot access, can view, or can update) specified for the business group.

    • Business groups for the filtering conditions

Because the business groups are used for the filtering conditions, every user can access management information.

  • If no business group for the user permission management is specified in the management information, general users can perform the following operations regardless of the permission settings.

    • View the management information

    • Update the management information

    • Execute conversion
