Settings for users and business groups

If you want to add access permissions and execution permissions to DataMagic management information or other information, you need to specify settings for users and business groups. If you do not want to add access permissions and execution permissions, you do not need to specify these settings.

Access permissions and execution permissions must be assigned to business groups. Operation permissions for DataMagic management information must be assigned to users.

 

The following is an example of specifying settings.

In the setting example, you set the business group and the user that can update the management information and perform data processing.

The information to be registered is as follows:

To register the information:

1. Log in to DataMagic as the user who installed DataMagic (administrator user).

The default password is "admin".

  • User ID: admin

  • Password: admin

2. Register a user.

In this example, you are going to specify the user ID user1, which exists in the operating system where DataMagic is installed. For connection authentication, you are going to use a password saved in the operating system.

Specify the following settings:

  • User ID: user1

  • Authentication method: OS authentication

  • User Type: General user

3. Register a business group.

Set the following information.

  • Business group: Group1

4. Select a user belonging to the specified business group, and then add the permission to update management information and the permission to execute data processing conversion.

Specify the following settings:

  • User ID: user1

  • Access rights: View and update

  • Execution rights: Can execute

This finishes the access permission settings for the business group Group1 and the user user1.
