Authentication methods

There are two methods to authenticate a user for connecting to DataMagic: OS authentication and product authentication.

Table 2.2 Authentication methods
Authentication method	Description
OS authentication	Connection authentication is performed using the password stored in the OS.
Product authentication	Connection authentication is performed using the password registered in the user information of DataMagic.

Note

Only the users authenticated by OS authentication can execute utilities. The users authenticated by product authentication cannot execute utilities.
You cannot use an "OS authentication" user account that has no password set for connection authentication.
