Updated GUI

Magic

3.0.0

(1) Updated operation screen

The DataMagic GUI has been updated substantially based on the new Windows GUI design, while inheriting desktop environment operations. A variety of data processing functions from previous versions of DataMagic remain, while the GUI has been enhanced with more user-friendly operation interface.

(2) Displaying multiple advanced settings in the Data Processing Settings screen

In previous versions of the Data Processing Settings screen, setting screens for input files, conditions, and output files were displayed in a separate dialog box and could not be viewed at the same time.

From DataMagic Ver.3 onward, settings for input files, conditions, and output files are displayed side by side, and you can edit settings by toggling the sub-screen in each tab. When viewing file content, you can preview input and output files at the same time.

(3) Displaying multiple screens from the Start Page

In the previous versions, when the content of management information was displayed from the DataMagic Admin screen, the information was deeply layered and multiple dialog boxes could not be displayed at the same time.

From DataMagic Ver.3 onward, the Start Page is set as the starting point, reducing the steps needed to display detailed management information. In addition, you can see the Detailed Information screens of the management information simultaneously in either tabs or sub-screen, so you can compare and check each setting of the management information. For example, you can open both the CSV - Detailed Information screen and the Fixed Format - Detailed Information screen together, and then compare these screens by switching tabs or placing the sub-screen side by side.

(4) Options to retain relation lines

In the case of redefinition of layout, where an entry of layout information is modified or the management information ID assigned for the I/O settings is changed in data processing settings, you can now select whether to discard or retain relation lines in the data processing settings screens.

In addition, when an undefined input or output field is found inside a registered record of mapping information as a result of a redefinition of its layout settings, you can now select whether to discard the entire record of mapping information or only the redefined and eliminated portion of the record.

(5) Displaying the previously-browsed file location

When browsing for files from the GUI, you can now display the previously-browsed file location. Even when browsing multiple files one by one, you are saved the effort of having to re-enter the folder each time.

(6) Adding filtering conditions in the list screen and saving the state

In previous versions, when you displayed a large amount of management information in the list screen, all the registered management information was displayed and you had to view a large number of fields.

From DataMagic Ver.3 onward, you can filter management information by using business groups or comments as keys. Through this enhancement, you can choose to display only the lists you need. In addition, the next time you view the list screen, the list is displayed in its previously filtered state.

(7) Saving the display state (layout) of the screen

In previous versions, even if you sorted data in fields in the list screen by ascending or descending order, the list screen would return to its default state the next time you opened the list screen. Also, if you closed a screen, the display state (layout) of the screen would return to its default state when reopened.

From DataMagic Ver.3 onward, you can view the list screen with the same sorting as last time applied.

(8) Improvement on mapping connection lines

When mapping a large number of fields, the batch mapping function, which was displayed by right-clicking in previous versions, can now be executed using the button at the top of the Set Mapping Information screen. In addition to operations such as Map the same fields and Map similar field, Map sequentially has been added. Due to this enhancement, even if the name of an input field is different from the name of the output field, mapping can be performed in a batch from the beginning of the input field.

(9) Copying conditions and mapping information

In the context menu of each condition icons, Copy condition has been added. In the context menu of the condition area, Paste condition has been added. In this enhancement, you can copy already-specified information to another condition.

In the context menu of the relation line connected the condition icon and the output icon, Copy and Paste has been added. In the context menu of the condition icon, Paste relation line has been added. In this enhancement, you can copy already-specified mapping-information settings to another relation line.

You can copy conditions only when the output icon is the same as the output icon of the copy source.

(10) Displaying errors in a list in the Data Processing Settings screen.

In previous versions, after you specified settings and clicked the Save button in the Data Processing Settings screen, only one error was displayed at a time even if multiple errors occurred, and you had to keep redisplaying the dialog box and handling each error one by one.

From DataMagic Ver.3 onward, if an error occurs in the content of the Data Processing Settings screen, if you click the Save button, errors in the data processing information are displayed in a list in the advanced settings. This enhancement allows you to check all the errors in a list.

In addition, input area that need to be configured are displayed with a red border so that users can locate errors easily.

(11) Exporting from the list screen by selecting an ID

When you export management information for purposes such as migrating a system, if you select an ID from the management information in the list screen and then click the Export button, the selected ID is automatically displayed in the Export Management Information screen.

(12) Selecting color scheme of the GUI

In the updated GUI, you can select the colors to be used in the screens.

(13) Deleting multiple fields from the list screen

In previous versions, if you wanted to delete fields in the list screen, you had to delete one field at a time.

From DataMagic Ver.3 onward, you can specify multiple fields in the list screen to batch delete unnecessary management information.
