Code conversion

This function is used to convert the encoding during data processing. The function can convert the encoding to custom external character encoding or 1-byte EBCDIC encoding. This versatility allows you to process data for a variety of platforms. It also allows you to convert between fullwidth and halfwidth kana, fullwidth and halfwidth alphanumeric characters, and fullwidth and halfwidth symbols.

Kanji code can also be corresponding to the surrogate pair characters and variation selectors. In addition, you can switch whether to convert in the range of the JIS level 1 and 2 characters.

Support is also provided for Unicode characters (~, ∥, -, ¢, £, and ¬) native to Windows. When converting the encoding, you can select either Windows native encoding or Unicode Consortium standard encoding. Kanji code can also be corresponding to the surrogate pair characters and variation selectors. In addition, you can switch whether to convert in the range of the JIS level 1 and 2 characters.

You can set the encoding of the input and output files, the conversion method, and other items in the Code conversion tab of the Input Settings screen and Output Settings screen in the Data Processing Settings screen.

Note

You cannot use the Code conversion for the DataMagic Desktop grade.
